From my sketchbook while I worked on simplifying my gouache paintings, showing form and shadow without blending too much. The sky came out an unnatural teal and the tree twisted and leafless, like something out of one of those old fairytales (that are often so dark and twisty the older they are).

This one works as living room wall art or a statement print for a reading corner. Anywhere with room for something a bit strange.
